Organisations
Brick Suppliers
 | Bricklink consists of many
individual shops and is the probably the most extensive source for
extra pieces. |
 | Baylit is another
supplier, generally more expensive than Bricklink but sometimes has
pieces Bricklink doesn't and everything comes from the one
source. |
 | Dacta are an educational
division of lego who supply many parts no longer available elsewhere
such as the micromotor
and caterpillar track
links. Information on UK distributor Commotion
can be found here,
for other countries click here. |
 | Lego Shop At Home sell a variety
of individual and bulk pieces as well as the usual sets; the selection
is fairly limited at this time, although prices are generally cheaper
than elsewhere. |
Reference
 | Technica
by Jim Hughes, a superb registry of Technic parts with great pictures. |
 | Brickset is an excellent
reference for Lego sets over the years, with a good keyword based
search. |
 | Peeron contains over 1000
Lego set inventories and information on the parts themselves. You can
search to find which sets contain a particular part. Extremely
useful! |
 | Brickshelf contains scanned
instructions for hundreds of lego sets; this feature is currently
offline but will hopefully be back soon. |
CAD
 | MLCAD is the
application I used to generate all the CAD models on this website, |
 | L3P is
used to convert the MLCAD files to POVRay files, |
 | and POVRay is used to generate
the ray traced rendered images. |
 | LDraw is used by MLCAD and also
has a very useful resource site. |
 | LPub is new
program by Kevin Clague, and can be used for generating excellent
quality instructions. |
 | LSynth is
another program by Kevin
Clague for generating flexible parts such as pneumatic hoses. |
