I offer tuition in all aspects of double and electric bass playing including -
 

• technique
• music theory
• improvisation
• reading

I believe that good general musicianship is the key to successful bass playing, and my teaching approach reflects this, emphasising not just individual aspects of the bass, but also how it fits together in a wider musical context.

I am happy to teach musicians of all levels of experience. I tailor the lessons to the goals of the individual, so the ability to read music or know theory is not a prerequisite.

Students can of course bring their own instruments, but are also welcome to use mine during their lesson. This can be useful for those using public transport, which is sometimes difficult with a large instrument, or for those wishing to try a different instrument.

I have a selection of 4, 5, and 6 string bass guitars, a fretless bass guitar, a double bass and an electric double bass available.
